Course Description
This course covers the structure and function of major biomolecules such as carbohydrates and lipids and their role in metabolism. Energy metabolism and biomolecule biosynthesis and degradation are emphasized. Prerequisite: CHEM-204 General Chemistry II or CHEM-232 Structure and Reactivity and CHEM-222 Organic Chemistry II. Strongly recommended: BIOL-426/CHEM-426. 3 SH. 3 lecture hours.
