Course Title
Chemistry of Natural Waters
Course Description
Chemical reactions in the atmosphere, the land surface, and in the groundwater determine the distribution of both beneficial and toxic materials on earth that may affect resource distribution and human health. Chemistry of Natural Waters examines the elements and reactions that govern the mobility, stability, and distribution of nutrients, salts, and toxins in freshwater, marine, atmospheric, and groundwater systems. Chemical analysis techniques, field methods, computer applications, and problem-solving are important components of the course. Prerequisites: CHEM-204. 4 SH. 3 lecture hours, 3 laboratory/field hours.
