Course Title
GO Argentina
Course Description
GO Argentina: Identity Formations in Modern Buenos Aires will guide students as they grapple with the historical layers that have shaped identity formation in Buenos Aires. These include socio-economic class, constructions of race, immigration, and demographic reshaping of Buenos Aires during the late 19th/early 20th centuries, to the continuing impact of a military dictatorship (1976-83) that carried out a dirty war that disappeared 30,000 of its own citizens. In addition, we will examine ways soccer clubs have shaped and continue to shape community identity as we work with second division club, Club Atlético Atlanta.
