Course Description
The preparation course for "GO China: Past, Present, and Future", a two-week summer program based in Beijing, China with excursions to the city of Tianjin and culturally significant sites in Shandong Province. By juxtaposing China's formidable cultural past with its meteoric rise to political and economic importance in the present, it will give students the opportunity to understand how China's global position might evolve in the future. It will also help students reflect on their own American roots and identity and develop a better understanding of the American position as well as their own career opportunities in a fast changing and increasingly interdependent world.
