Course Title
Go Australia
Course Description
This program offers students the unique opportunity to experience both the indigenous and settler cultures of Australia and learn about the unique biodiversity and shared history from the perspective of multiple indigenous communities. Students will spend time in the outback and tropical rainforest, snorkel in the Great Barrier Reef, experience the traditional "Welcome to Country" ceremony from local indigenous leaders, and learn about the land from an indigenous perspective. Through these experiences, and time spent in multicultural cities like Adelaide and Sydney, students will develop a greater understanding of the history of a modern nation that continues to navigate challenging relationships between the original inhabitants, settlers, and 20th and 21st-century immigrants. 0 SH.
